In order to get rid of belly fat, you need to reduce the amount of saturated fats you consume, avoid drinking soda, and initiate a quality strength training program you can take part in at least three times per week.

Saturated fats are the unhealthy fats that increase cholesterol and your risk of heart disease. To help lose your fat you need to cut back on foods that contain saturated fats by changing your eating habits. The worst offenders are the greasy, deep fried and fatty foods that are out there. If you commonly eat burgers and fries at fast food restaurants then you are going to need to make other healthier choices. Try instead to consume baked or grilled foods and lean choices of meat such as turkey or chicken rather than meats that are high in fat content. You need to aim for less than 7% of the total calories you consume each day to be from saturated fats.

What a person drinks is often a source of empty calories that can lead to extra fat around the stomach area. Soda is the leading one of them that people often drink daily, including children. Soda is very high in sugar and if this sugar is not burnt up by your body it is converted to fat that is stored. Often where we least want it. Even diet soda isn’t good for you if you really want to eliminate that stomach fat. Water is the best drink for you as it will keep you hydrated. You also won’t feel as hungry during the day so you will eat less at meals. If you find it hard to give up soda completely, start by reducing the amount your drink.

In the world we live in, we expect instant results in everything that we do. We can order that cheeseburger really fast, and after we gain weight from eating tons of unhealthy foods, we then expect immediate weight loss results. The reality of the situation is that you cannot expect to lose a few years worth of weight in a few minutes.

With these all or nothing thoughts, it’s easy to see why the weight loss community is a billion dollar business. It does not matter how ridiculous the weight loss program or diet drug is. Millions of people will buy into the concept because they hope that it can work for them.

Many of these weight loss drugs have a claim that you can lose weight by taking these pills, and you won’t have to exercise or change your eating habits. With claims like these, you should walk the other way.

When it comes to losing weight, one of the hardest things to tackle is attempting to lose the pounds and keep them off for good. Creating a healthy diet is one step, but if you don’t add exercise to the list, you won’t lose all the weight and you won’t get rid of belly fat, the way that you can with the advantage of exercise.

When you think of weight loss drugs remember three things. The first thing to note is that a huge majority of these drugs do not work. Millions of people buy them with high hopes and they toss them in the garbage a short while later. The problem is that they will go and buy more drugs with false claims.

The second thing that you should keep in mind is that the drugs that do work tend to have huge negative consequences or even fatal flaws. Fen-phen was a drug that contained both fenfluramine and phentermine, hence the name. This drug was great in that it did actually help a lot of people with their desires to lose weight. Unfortunately, they paid with damaged heart valves.

The last thing to remember is that even over the counter drugs can be as dangerous or as deadly as prescription drugs such as Fen-phen. Many of these drugs come with side effects listed all over them but people ignore them in hopes that they will lose weight easily and without exercise.

There is no magic pill or patch that can help you to get a movie star body without having to leave the couch. However you can feel a high and great about yourself when you exercise. Prescribe yourself some exercise as a pill to lose weight and let those endorphins kick in, leaving you feeling fantastic. If you eat well and add fitness regiment to your lifestyle, you can lose weight and build muscle to have a lean and toned body.

You don’t have to starve yourself, and you don’t have to over do it to lose weight. Just exercise, eat smaller portions and eat healthier foods.

If there is one constant in the world today, it is the fact that there is a diet for every possible angle of losing weight. The trouble with dieting, however, is that it simply does not work. Dieting is a fruitless passion, of restricting calories, depriving yourself and changing meals. But, in order to lose the extra weight you are trying to eliminate from the body, you must change your life and the way you think about food.

While there are clearly many diets out there from fad Cabbage Soup diets to 24 hour Celebrity Diets, there is no clear evidence that any of these diets work. As a matter of fact, if dieting worked, there would be far fewer people with weight problems today. But, this is not the case. Today, there are more people living overweight than ever before and this is a clear sign that diets just do not work.

Why don’t diets work? Deprivation is the number one reason why people fall off diets. When a person feels they are depriving themselves from the foods they love, especially after living a life of food celebration, they often become more and more mentally separated from the diet. Just like with any other decision in life, if our minds are not totally in sync with the decision, we will not succeed.

Another key reason for failure, is excessive restriction. While the human body can live on a calorie restricted diet for a short while, and often under the guidance of a doctor, after a short period, the body will simply demand more and more food. Thus, the dieter will feel as though they are starving and fall off the diet wagon only to eat more food and regain any lost weight plus possibly some more.

In general, fad diets and extensive diet plans require too many changes on the body and in a persons lifestyle to work on a daily basis. In order to make real changes and lose real weight for a lifetime, the weight needs to be lost slowly and through a plan that changes the eating plan gradually and in a way that is easy to stick with.

Dieting is a multi-million dollar business. The reason dieting makes so much money year after year is due to the immense failure rate. If you truly want to lose weight, take a few baby steps by being more active, and make changes that you can live with for a lifetime.

Combining exercise and TV watching is a natural progression in this age of multi tasking. We are so busy juggling our roles and responsibilities that we have to find creative ways to get everything done. At first, TV and exercise might seem like an unlikely duo but given the fact that they both are on the list of our “personal” to do’s, exercise is often the last thing on the list to get done, or not get done in many cases. You may also be surprised as you read on and learn the ways they work well together.

We do not have to feel guilty for wanting to watch our favorite shows. We work hard all day and television provides a much needed rest and escape from all that fills our minds. Chances are, it is already part of your routine to be seated on the couch with the TV tuned in at certain times. You may not have thought of it this way before, but you have made a commitment to be there for that show at that time. Since the commitment is already there, why not add some activity to it? Not every workout has to be an hour. You do not always have to have a workout video on or adhere to a routine that someone else has devised. Devise a plan of your own. Do some crunches during the commercials. Keep small weights next to the couch and try curling your biceps and pressing your triceps during your viewing. A sitcom lasts thirty minutes. A walk or jog on the treadmill would fly by while watching your favorite comedy. It may take a few times to remember it and make it a habit, but do not give up. It will be worth i.

Boredom is one of the top workout killers. Often we are excited to start our work out but we get bored and distracted within a few minutes and quit, saying we’ll finish it later. Later never comes of course and another workout day is neglected. When you exercise while watching TV you are more likely to stay entertained and exercise for a longer period of time.

Night time and TV viewing time are major diet killers. For some reason we just MUST snack while watching TV at night. Exercising while watching TV keeps the hands too busy to handle food and the exercise itself reduces the craving for snacks. So next time you’re getting things to watch your favorite show, pass on the chips and grab your Pilates ball instead.

So you see, exercise and television watching are not such unlikely partners at all. Do not make the mistake of taking it too lightly though. If you want your workout to count, treat the whole thing like any other work out. Plan for it. Decide which shows would be good for you to work out to and schedule the day and time just like gym time or any other appointment so you will plan for it. Then do it.

People start new diets all the time for one reason or another. They may decide it is time to shed those extra pounds before summer or a vacation. It could be their New Year’s resolution or their doctor may recommend it. Yet most people aren’t able to start a diet and stick to it like they need to.

It can be frustrating to start a diet, lose some weight, and then to gain it all back. This is the cycle that most dieters go through though. It can lead to depression, overeating, and even feelings of anger and disappointment. The feeling of failure that comes with it can really affect how a person feels about themselves. As their self esteem diminishes it can lead to problems for them in personal relationships as well as with their career.

Too many diets are very restrictive though as far as calories and the selection of foods. This is why they are hard for people to stick to. Since your body often isn’t getting all it needs, it will also be fighting you every step of the way as well. If you want to successfully lose the weight though and keep it off you need to take a different approach.

Forget those fad diets that are everywhere you turn. Rather than dieting you need to make lifestyle changes that you plan to keep for the rest of your life. It may be difficult at first but as you incorporate them you will become familiar with them. The fact that you will have more energy, feel great, and lose weight will keep you motivated. Before you know it these changes will become an integrated part of who you are.

There is no quick fix for losing weight and being healthier. You are going to have to commit to eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly. A balanced diet doesn’t mean you have to give up your favorite foods. You will need to consume them in moderation though. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables that are great for your body. Replace those sugary drinks with water as well.

Too many people make excuses not to exercise because they don’t enjoy it. There is no reason why you shouldn’t have some time in your day for it. Look for forms of exercise that you enjoy so it won’t be a chore. This can be playing sports, walking, riding a bike, dancing or something else you will look forward to doing. Find several different types of exercise too so you won’t become bored with just one of them.

Another common mistake people make is that they try to change too much too fast. You can’t completely change your eating habits overnight. You can’t go from not exercising to running marathons. Make some realistic changes that you can stick to initially. As you grow accustomed to them make some more changes to your diet. You can also increase the amount of time you spend exercising as your level of fitness increases.
